Abstract

Land law is inevitably an expression of social status and an instrument of social engineering Quite apart from the residential dimensions, land hes a huge economic significance in terms of providing security for capital, investment business and agriculture. It is in view of the incalculable significance of land as a real estate that the need for property management arises. This paper discusses the historical development of Land Law in Nigeria and concludes with the current law which is the principal statute regulating land management in Nigeria.
